Starting to worry me that we have so many players on high wages... Not easy to load them off either, when they are so well paid @ Everton.
Any reason to worry fellow Evertonians?

Bit of a blunt question. Why are you starting to worry now? And not last year? Or the year before? It's not like we've just signed them all in last 6 months

Because it's been confirmed in the last 24 hours that it will definitely stop us signing anybody in January and will negatively effect next summer.
And the local papers have run a piece detailing just how bad it all is (three quarters of a million per week on players nowhere near th 1st team squad - and they left Niasse out of that equation).

Personally, i'd say that's why people have woke up to it today.

Meh, hopefully lesson learnt.

We'll shift em in time whether it's contracts expiring, transfers or loan deals until expiry/transfer.

The wage bill gets a little cleaner in June and much cleaner the following June.

Also, with the way player amortisation works, players become "easier" to sell later on in their contracts because, even if we accept well below what we paid, we're realizing a much smaller loss. (I think. I don't understand club finances that well.)

If that's anywhere close to accurate, it means that we'll probably be able to sell players like Bolasie, Schneiderlin, Tosun, Walcott, and even Sigurdsson once they get to the last year or two of their contract. I have a hunch that we could sell Walcott and possibly even Schneiderlin now and do alright on the accounting side.

The use of a differing number of head banging emojis for each player really tickled me. Good work.

You make less of a loss against their carrying value at the time of the sale.

But you have incurred 4 years (say) of amortisation before that, plus wages costs.

Bluntly, donít worry re amortisation. The actual cash amounts are the most important things.

Got a feeling Sandro will come good.
