A massive job off loading a big part of the squad, who the fuck would pay them what they are on, to be fair to Silva wether he turns out to be good enough or not it must be depressing having to be weighed down by some of our shite, so few of any real quality.
I still despise Clive Thomas..

I recall reading that him and Holland colluded over a less than the going rate salary so that we had to pay the shortfall.

Pretty scummy if true.

Don't understand why some of you are worried about the wages, no point is there, massive mistakes were made, we can all see that, players will leave before the end of the month and quite a few will follow them out the door in the summer.

We have gone full circle.

sell to buy - loadsamoney - sell to buy. Must be record.

It will be years before this mess is corrected. Stealing a living some of these 'footballers'.

Everton, ruining the transfer market since summer 2018

Thatís exactly what the accusation was, he got the Holland job because he would only cost peanuts and we would pay the rest, our lawyers that drew up his termination contract should be fired !

I think the main worry is that it will stunt our ability to recruit for a bit, in a time that we could really do with some new players

Incomptence/desperation on our part, and ruthless conduct from Koeman and the Dutch, even though they are well within their rights

Outside of football how many industries keep paying someone who was sacked for underperforming and being shit at their job?

Most, I think.

Remember managers are on fixed term deals so the (future) earnings are quantifiable.

Then unless you have agreed performance targets which if not met can lead to dismissal then most sackings are ďunfairĒ.

Therefore until they get equal remuneration for the duration of the contract, agreed by both parties, then they are due recompense.

Stoke fans are less than impressed with him from what I've read. General consensus is that and I quote he is ' a fraud of a footballer'.
The local Southampton correspondent for their local paper said of him that it is amazing that he has managed to con people into thinking he is a footballer when he signed for us

Itís not the termination deal. Itís the original deal.

And what manager is going to sign a contract where if theyíre sacked they donít get much money?

Clubs would sack managers even more frequently than now.

Blimey.

So is it also common practice for the sacked employee and new employer to agree on a small salary so that the previous employers continue to make the shortfall?

Did we come up with this clause or whatever so that we didnít have to stump up a lump sum in the event of a sacking?

No itís been around forever (see Leeds paying people like Fowler 60% of his salary at City, City likewise when people like Adebayor were at Spurs).

The new salary has to be reasonable in the market.

Problem is for us both RM and Koeman went to small nationsí teams who will be able to evidence recent salaries.

Think we challenged Koemanís salary but guess it was legally defensible.
