Rumours in the Italian media have linked Victor Anichebe with a move to German side Bayer Leverkusen.

With no quotes, and no figures mentioned, this rumour is far-fetched at best, but keep your eye out for Germans in suits at West Derby cashpoints...

Zoltan Gera is apparently to be Everton's first new signing of the summer on a free move from West Brom.

Joleon Lescott hopes to move in from the left of defence and form a central partnership next season, after doing his bit for the team and allowing Leighton Baines to be used sparingly.

'I would prefer to play centre-half to be honest,'he said. 'I made my debut for England at centre-half and hopefully I can continue there for Everton,' said the 25-year-old.

'I had never played left-back before I came here, I have played for England there and obviously for Everton.

'I have spoke to him [Everton boss David Moyes] a few times but this season it has been more about the team so hopefully next season we can sort that out.

'I want to play centre-half, he knows that - he sees me as a centre-half but it is more important for me to play at left-back for the team so I am more than willing to do that.' ...discuss this in our forum...
