Everton's Under 18 side will be in action on Monday as Carlisle United visit Finch Farm for a friendly match.

Carlisle are currently training near Preston and will also face Rochdale.

Marca, the Spanish sports paper, is reporting that Mehmet Aurelio has flown to Merseyside in order to sign for Everton.

The 30 year old defensive midfielder is apparently out of contract with Fenerbahce and ready to move to the Premier League after the Blues offered more money that Spanish Real Betis.

Aurelio is Turkey's vice captain and has played 20 times for his country (despite being born in Brazil!)

Everton are set to unveil Steve Round as David Moyes' new assistant manager today according to the Press Association.

The Blues have been locked in negotiations over securing Round's appointment for the last few days, but it is believed he will be at Finch Farm to meet his new colleagues today.

NSNO 2 (1) - (0) 0 This is Anfield

NSNO cantered to a 2-0 victory over Liverpool website This is Anfield today at "Play Football" in Crosby in the fifth game of a two year old series which sees the sides sitting equal, with a draw each as well as two victories.

New signing Neville Southall was unable to pass a fitness test, but Andy in goals had little to do and when he did, he did it effectively.

NSNO opened the scoring after around 20 minutes when a flick on from Liam sent lone-striker Andy Baker through one on one with the keeper who guessed early and seemingly dived out of Andy's way for him to slot home coolly.

A tense period of play followed, with a reshuffle required in the middle, with Si going off for Gaz, who replaced Tony on the wing with the little wide man taking control in the centre of midfield.

Former Everton academy player "Bainsey's Physio" proved a constant threat to the Liverpool defence with his pace and guile, while Ste (Ali) and Rich shone at the back with performances often digging deep in their reserves.

At left-back Ste shone, and with a succession of Bally and Mr Devil infront of him, had plenty of ability and power to rely on.

Deep into the second half NSNO pressure told and Bainsey's Physio slammed home a second for NSNO after being denied first by TIA keeper "Big Wooden Spoon" and then by a determined bald Scotsman. Again, the assist credit must go to Liam, but only because he kept reminding us on the way home, although I',m pretty sure Rhys had a hand too!

Substitutes proved their worth and Watty and Bally, as well as Mr Devil and Gaz played their part superbly. A well earned win for NSNO going into next season...

(Match pictures will no doubt be uploaded to our forum from our spectators, but live-action shots were also provided by Phil and Si here) ...discuss this in our forum...
