| | | | The NSNO End of Season celebrations | | | | Saturday night saw the second annual NSNO "End of Season party" and in a late substitution, the injured (get well soon) Neville Southall was replaced by Gary Stevens and John Bailey.
The festivities were well under way as news that NSNO had defeated Liverpool website, This is Anfield, 2-0 earlier that day filtered through the jubilant Evertonian crowd and the reception given to the players was superb. The news of the late replacements didn't deter the party-goers either, and the roar that greeted Stevens and Bailey as they made their way to the top table was superb.
Bails was first up to answer questions, and thrilled us with tales of, well, something that probably shouldn't be repeated as the tabloids would have a field day, if they could decifer his cunning code.
Gary Stevens was again greeted with a cheer when he took to the microphone, and was open, honest, and cutting when he needed to be, about his time in an Everton shirt. Tales of being locked in a Chinese restaurant with money from fines paying for the drinks, and the quote "If you don't drink you can sign for Liverpool then!" held the audience well.
Comedian Lennie Anderson was hilarious, and kept everyone in check with no-one in a Matalan shirt daring to heckle!
The night was the culmination of our fundraising for a young Evertonian who has a rare form of cancer, and throughout the day we raised over £300, as well as grabbing him a good few signed goodies from former players. The raffle also provided a prize for everyone who entered, thanks to our merchandising partners "If you know your history"
We would like to once again thank Gary and Bails for turning out at such short notice, and to everyone for making it yet another memorable NSNO night. Click below to see the images from the night.
