John Heitinga insists he cannot wait to make his home debut for Everton.
The Dutch international is cup tied for Thursday's Europa League home game against AEK Athens, but will be available to face Balckburn at Goodison Park three days later. With manager David Moyes brining Heitinga on as a defensive midfielder against Fulham last Sunday, and with captain Phil Neville out with ligament damage, there is every chance that the 25 year old will play some part against the Lancashire club.
Heitinga told EvertonTV: "I'm playing for Everton now and I'm here for five years and it will be my first game at home.
"We've played four games and have only got three points, and it's not good enough for Everton.
"I enjoyed it against Fulham, but I would have had more fun if we had taken the three points back to Liverpool. It was my first few minutes in the Premier League - I enjoyed it but I wanted to win."
He continued: "I was sitting on the bench and I saw the tackle and the first thing that went through my head was that maybe I was coming on, as it was a terrible tackle. It's never nice if a player is injured. Phil is a strong player and he will make it.
"I had had two training sessions now on Friday and Saturday and now I'm here - everything is going fast and next weekend is my first home game because I'm not allowed to play on Thursday in the Europa League."...discuss this on the forums
