Everton v Nottingham Forest

Post

Saturday 3pm!

Last match of Gana's suspension. Tim suspended after picking up 5 bookings. Garner 1 booking away from suspension.

Chris Kavanagh is the referee. His record with both clubs:

Everton record: P17 W5 D5 L7 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-k ... n/1/plus/0
Forest record: P19 W4 D7 L8 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-k ... n/1/plus/0

Fun fact - We haven't scored in our last 6 matches under Kavanagh. Four 0-0s and two 0-1 defeats including Leeds away this season.

Tough one this. If Keane is available then I think it has to be:
Pickford
JOB Tarkowski Keane Mykolenko
Garner KDH
Ndiaye Alcaraz Grealish
Barry
.
If Keane is out...
. Pickford
Garner Tarkowski JOB Mykolenko
Alcaraz KDH
Ndiaye McNeil Grealish
Barry
Either way our midfield is going to struggle physically.

Imagine being just outside the relegation zone at Christmas and managed by Sean dyche.

Could never be us what’s it like down there

Celtic corner opposite the Adelphi.

Go upstairs and it’s on the big screen.

Great set up. I was there last year for the West Ham game so can’t be 100% sure they still have it on though.

Last time we played these on this weekend in December we were at Winter Wonderland and we won 1-0, McNeil (at Forest)

I’m going again this weekend so a repeat of that would be tremendous!

We didn't even get going last time out against Newcastle. Need to start as we do away games recently and look to dictate the ball from the off. Moyes is damned whatever he does if we don't win. If he moves Garner into midfield and we win it's a great move and if we lose he should have moved him. Pretty binary as it will all be pinned on that decision such is our lack of options in the centre.

Might need JOB at RB if Keane is available just to add height for their set piece threat.

Don't think Moyes will ignore the fact we've conceded from corners recently and that Dyche will target our vulnerability here.

People won't want to see it, but with Tim suspended it makes a lot of sense to move Garner back to CM and move JOB to RB should Keane be available.

Dyche will play on the counter, using their pace against our snails. If he concedes possession to us, we need to make the most of it. Neither manager will want to lose, so game will be tight. Law of averages say Barry might score 🤔 😆😆😆

You’re right, and if you go 1-0 up against a Dyche team when he is away from home, his teams struggle to go against that.

Conversely if they get 1-0 up, they will be a tough nut to crack. I quite like their lineup and they look like they will be quite useful under a Dyche setup. They have a good defensive unit which was well drilled under NES and Anderson in CM alongside MGW - not to be underestimated.

Would be a decent win if we can get it.
