Re: Everton v Nottingham Forest
First game I can't get to. Fucked my ankle coming off a bench in Bongos last night.
I had to give my ticket away.
I hope I miss a class match and another win.

Are you from Kettering?AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 3:29 pm How much would you have hated going to the matches if we'd not survived after the Lampard relegation season, or the season after when we had double points deductions?
How much would you have hated the absolutely catastrophic financial implications of being relegated in either of those seasons with high earners with no relegation wage reduction clauses, the following PSR rule violations we'd have been hit with, the extremely likely subsequent relegation to league one?
Fucking mental that people can even consider booing him,. genuinely shocked at the state of some people's thought processes.

I'd be quite happy to let them have all of the ball, not that they'll want it obviously. Can't get suckered into getting countered on all game.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:56 am We didn't cope well with Newcastle counter attacking us, and have conceded from corners recently so I think we just need to be solid here and not push too high up,. especially with potentially a very weak midfield.
Better to walk away with a drab 0-0 than allow them the space to run at our slow defence. Might not be pretty or entertaining but need to learn our lessons from the Newcastle match and not play to their strengths here, and then hope one of our flair players does something great to win it or score from a set piece.

Dyche had us thinking the squad we had was so poor that hovering above the relegation zone was the max anyone could possibly do with us Moyes came in and proved what a fraud he was

They year before he had us level on points with 11th placed Brighton despite the extreme disruption of PSR points deductions.
I get why people weren't happy with him towards the end, and even if people felt that literally anyone could have kept us up the season before, he was asked to do a job of keeping the club from relegation and financial oblivion which he achieved... Booing him because of playing style or a poor end to the reign seems really mad.
Why do people have to go to such extremes? Just say thanks for achieving the required points, but glad you aren't here any more because the football was grueling to watch, and at least show a modicum of gratitude for getting the points and fulfilling his remit as the manager during that time.

Dyche had almost a wartime mentality in that he would find any way to make sure we got the points we needed. He was a strong character in a needs must situation for the club.
The circumstances were absolutely dire; points deductions, financial distress, board protests. We had the lot and Dyche got us through a horrendous period still in the league. Other managers would have folded or quit but he just got on with it.
Sometimes managers get sacked if results or performances aren’t good enough - that’s part and parcel of football. But that doesn’t mean that we should forget everything that was achieved during his stay.
That deserves respect and he should always get a good reception from us.

Although he’s been fairly good this season Keane, bringing him back in makes us more susceptible to Forests pacey attackers with him being there so we will have to play deep and also weakens right back by moving Jake back there instead of Garner
Look forward to Branthwaites return whenever that may be

I think JOB and Keane will have a point to prove today.
As for his reception, I think the boo boys and girl will be in the minority.
