i can see where u are coming from - and makes sense
but
if Saka got injured for example - MGW can be there as a direct replacement and play in his best position
Madueke is the direct like for like though and Tuchel wants runners beyond Kane which MGW wouldn't provide playing there.
I genuinely think he's constructed a very balanced squad for a team that plays his tactics.
Last Euros we had multiple players all filling the same area of the pitch just to squeeze every player of ability in regardless of if it worked or not... I'm really pleased to see a manager not fall in to that same trap for once.
I doubt we'll win it though, regardless of who he picked. The heat will be a huge problem for us, as will the demands of a full English season, and we don't have the best team. I think he's giving us as good a chance as he can though with how he's constructed this squad.

Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento is a doubt for England's World Cup campaign after suffering a muscular injury.
The full-back is understood to have been injured during training on Sunday and is being assessed by medical staff.
England begin their World Cup bid against Croatia on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old's involvement in the tournament had already been in doubt after he missed the final five weeks of the season with a thigh injury.
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, who is on England's stand-by list, is a possible replacement for Livramento should the Newcastle defender be ruled out.

Wonder if TAA is in contention again? Don't know if he was even on the standby list. Probably not.
They were saying on the radio it's confirmed he's out and Chalobah has been called up to replace him.
We are really light at full back now, especially with James' injury record... Can't understand why or how he's not called up Lewis Hall unless he wasn't on the standby list

From what I read he could have picked anyone from the initial 50-odd man squad list. Lewis Hall was on it as was TAA and even James Garner. Any of whom would have been better than Chalobah

Yeah doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, unless he's thinking of using Stones there in an emergency?
I'm pretty happy with Tuchel's squad tbh, all apart from full back, which is now weaker and he's randomly called up another CB instead of a like for like replacement. Very odd.
