Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
While we’re arguing whether we should learn from Brighton or Brentford, Brighton have just signed another player

Whatever happened to the days when other club chairmen would think “what would Everton do?”

It was probably number 1 on the Kenwright list of 'things that never happened'.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2026 12:55 pm Whatever happened to the days when other club chairmen would think “what would Everton do?”![]()

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
From Football Insider: Everton are "exploring" the possibility of signing Juventus striker Lois Openda on a loan-to-buy deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The Italian giants are desperate to offload the Belgian, and it is understood that the Toffees have the money to make a deal happen this summer. Juventus were forced into signing Openda for £40million as part of their agreement with RB Leipzig, but they are expecting to have to take a loss on him now.
Only played 24 times for Juve last season. 1 goal 0 assists. Had much better numbers while at Leipzig.

Another sub 6 foot striker linked (along with Taty)... Just don't see how someone of that height works in a Moyes system tbh.Big Nevs Vaz wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2026 9:18 am From Football Insider: Everton are "exploring" the possibility of signing Juventus striker Lois Openda on a loan-to-buy deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Maybe the fact we wouldn't have to pay for him is appealing, but I would worry about watching him try out jump massive CBs as the ball is endlessly pumped at his head.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2026
Sounds perfect:
Loïs Openda is an explosive, transition-focused striker, but his effectiveness relies heavily on open spaces. His primary weaknesses include a lack of aerial dominance, inconsistent passing in tight spaces, and occasional offside awareness issues when playing against deep defensive blocks.

A breakdown of his tactical and technical weaknesses reveals the following:
1. Physical and Aerial Limitations
Aerial Duels: At roughly 1.75m (5'9"), Openda is not a traditional target man. He struggles physically against tall, imposing center-backs in set-piece situations and long-ball distributions.
Back-to-Goal Play: He is less effective when asked to hold up the ball with his back to the goal under heavy pressure.

2. Playmaking and Technical Profile
Passing Accuracy: His passing stats and link-up play are often rated as weak. He can be prone to turnovers when attempting intricate combinations in congested areas.
Tight Spaces: Openda thrives when he can face forward and run into open channels. In matches where opponents sit deep in a "low block" and deny him space behind the backline, his overall influence on the game often drops significantly.

3. Tactical and Positional Awareness
Offside Awareness: Because he relies so heavily on his blistering pace and playing on the shoulder of the last defender, he can occasionally get caught offside.
Defensive Contribution & System Fit: He is known for a good work rate, but adapting to highly structured or methodical tactical systems—such as those often favored in Serie A—has proven challenging, as his profile is heavily geared toward counter-attacking.
