Fair enough. A.consistent performer for a top half side I should say. Pushing for Europe.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2026 9:52 am Classic Everton fan response - he’s somehow both not good enough for the PL but also worth twenty five million!

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I don’t think anybody is giving us twenty mil for him though.
More likely half that, with the other half in performance related add ons and sell on clauses

Dare we though. We are a bit shit. We could relegate ourselvesMatt1878 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2026 1:29 pm Be nice to be in a position where we loan our young players to PL teams to develop rather than Championship. A years loan for him to Ipswich, Dibling to Coventry or Alacarz to Hull, with plenty of game time (except against us).
Then if a success, they either buy a player they love with a PL sized budget or they come back the finished article.
When was the last time we ever loaned to another PL club? Feels a better model going forward.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Got £12m for Ben Godfrey, should be able to get at least £15m plus some add ons.
It would need nice if we could take the risk of leaning him out in case he blows up and ends up worth £50m but I think our position likely better to move him on unless his role in the team is going to increase this season.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I think Tim is ok and a useful player to have in the squad. Wouldn't be rushing to move him on unless we get a decent bid, but he should be more than a squad player that we utilise when we need an extra body to sure up the middle.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Don't want to see him leave, but also that run he had at the end of the season really highlighted just how open our midfield is when he plays.
I'd begrudgingly sell though if it meant Rohl and Armstrong got regular game time.
We have too many similar age profile in CM, especially so if we sign Hackney, so feels like someone needs to be sold to accommodate everyone's playing time needs.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Don't think either of them will with KDH ahead of them in their position, unless we continue to play players out of position. I don't think of KDH as a natural no. 10, but he seems to have that position locked down ahead of players that actually play in that position. We do have a decent number of bodies, but not enough quality or players playing in their natural positions. Feel like i've just said position way too much - position, position, position.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 1:53 pm Don't want to see him leave, but also that run he had at the end of the season really highlighted just how open our midfield is when he plays.

Hackney would be good, would be really happy with that, but Tim is still the only ball-winning destroyer type in the squad if Gana is gone. Like you say, wouldn't really want him to leave because I think it's a gap we don't seem likely to fill...my concern is the midfield becomes a bit lightweight without options on the bench that are capable of suring things up and adding a bit of steel when we need it. I don't think Tim is of the required standard for starting 11 week-in-week-out, but in games like City he's showed that he has something to offer in certain games and scenarios.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Neither Rohl nor Armstrong are 10s though, just as they aren't RWs despite Moyes getting as erect as an 18 year old waking up about playing them there.Surax wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 3:33 pm Don't think either of them will with KDH ahead of them in their position, unless we continue to play players out of position. I think we're kinda skint by the looks of things so need to sell to buy, so makes sense to move on the likes of Tim and Alcaraz if he bring in someone like Hackney who can play CM and AM.
Ideal world we'd keep Tim, like you say he's a extremely effective ball winner, a different profile to our other midfielders, and I genuinely think he could become a monster of he tidies up other areas of his game... but also I think playing him causes as many problems as it solves, so reluctantly I'd agree with selling if we got a reasonable fee for him with a good sell on %.
I like Rohl a lot, and I want Armstrong to be given game time and sign a new deal, so something probably has to give to allow that to happen, and also add money to put meagre funds to strengthen better than we could otherwise.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Money for Iroegbunam and Alcaraz and bringing in better quality would be good - as much as I love our Tim. Think he should be at least £25-30M though looking at the prices being chucked around at other players.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I think £25m with a 15% sell on fee would be about right. Hard to argue with that profit made either given we essentially swapped him for Dobbin.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 3:42 pm Money for Iroegbunam and Alcaraz and bringing in better quality would be good - as much as I love our Tim. Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I’d be a bit gutted, but if we reinvest in Charles and Hackney or similar then cool.
If it’s Soucek profile players, though, I’ll be sulking.

I think there'd be riots if we sold Tim and bought Soucek, even from those who don't even rate Tim!sam of the south wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 3:49 pm I’d be a bit gutted, but if we reinvest in Charles and Hackney or similar then cool.
