King

A month to go and our team currently looks like (excluding injuries):
Pickford
JOB Branthwaite Tarkowski Mykolenko
Garner Hackney
Ndiaye* KDH George
Beto
*Probably swap for McNeil if he leaves.

I'm not optimistic.
I think that just highlights that we are 2 injuries away from a relegation fight. If the powers that be don't realise that then we are in trouble.

I think it's more the financial restrictions than a lack of money. The money is there, we're just not allowed to spend.

🗞️Everton are interested in NEOM Centre Back Nathan Zézé

Bournemouth, Crystal Palace Inter Milan, Real Sociedad and Al Hilal are also interested. Zézé only joined the Saudi side last year in a €20M deal

I like it; tall, young, left-sided cb in case Branthwaite continues to be a crock

With a name like that, he’s got Palace written all over it.

A little bit concerned now that we haven’t got at least another player in especially at fullback or even in midfield.

I know that we don’t want to rush into buying players and paying over the odds to bring in players early. But I’m surprised there hasn’t been work done earlier to get the ball rolling on some deals, maybe I’m wrong but I thought the transfer committee was more firmed up now than it was this time last year (some positions still needed recruiting before).

Surely there’s a number of right backs we could target, maybe even a decent backup on a free transfer.

Maybe part of the problem is we are not actively being smart about who to go for or even take a bit of a punt on potential talent outside of the main English and Western European leagues who might even cost less.

Concern is I guess that we're going to have to rely a lot this season on potential talent rather than confirmed bona fide talent. We've a lot of youth that as yet (for varying reasons) haven't instantly locked down a position as their own. If they had they'd be playing regularly.

If they all show as much improvement as Garner has for us over the course of 3 or 4 seasons, then I'd be quite happy. Getting there whilst maintaining at least mid table and not having talent picked off too soon (Ndiaye) is the issue.

Of all the bullshit rumours, this is the one I fear the most. Unless we are a much better team in a much better position with much better status and much more money when he goes - we’ll be relegated without Pickford.

I'd be more concerned if the Ndaiye rumours weren't circulating. Why but an RB now with little money when you could potentially afford Spence or Doue in a week's time?

It's frustrating, but also I'd rather we buy real quality and it takes a bit longer than rush in to buying someone a bit shit / very average, only to realise what we could have had if we'd waited.

If this comes into fruition, then yeah I agree.

Just worried the main reason for hold ups is committee pulling towards youth and potential, and Moyes insisting on prem proven/post peak age players

I thought you wrote big meeks initially.

Tbh I’d love a couple of young fbs to burst onto the scene with a bit of pace and power.

Even if they fizzled out too early and then became beloved and partizan Everton pundits in the future.
