One thing he was doing against Doncaster which did my head in was not staying out wide. Especially first half. Makes us so easy to defend against when we don't offer width.

He's a very odd footballer. He clearly has some qualities but there's also some glaring deficiencies there and it's very hard to know how to utilise him to maximise his output.

Yeah he goes through bad patches McNeil, and when he's bad he is absolutely honking while still doing more than enough to get picked because he works so hard and rarely loses the ball (two big dyche ticks).

When he's on though he's one of the few that can kick a ball so you sort of have to play him through the bad patch.

No worries at all with McNeil, needs to play himself into some form.

Admire him, despite an awful period in his personal life he still managed to be more consistent than the team he plays for. Yep, when he’s shite, he’s awful but when he’s on it he’s wonderful.
