Just looking at this purely from a player/behavioural point of view - I think that if you are an Everton player now, unless we get relegated, why on earth would you want to move in the summer that your club is moving into a brand new world class stadium?
This is especially true for someone like Branthwaite where he could just move in 2/3 years and get a huge contract/fight for titles at this point. And still only be in his early/mid 20s.
The players have suffered the pain and anguish of being an Everton player over the past 3/4 years. So for then something amazing to come along and then leave would be bonkers in my mind. Unless you are offered insane levels of money at City or if contracts are up and you are miles apart in terms of agreeing a deal, then I sort of understand it. But I don't think you will find one player angling for a move this summer.
I could actually see Jarrad being offered a massive contract to stay in the summer. Convince him to stay another couple of years at the new stadium on a big fat new contract, and then let him go for a big transfer to whoever he wants. This part is just me dreaming, but it wouldn't surprise me if TFG wanted to make a big statement.
Think it depends what they are offered elsewhere. Think DCL would still be tempted by Newcastle. Think branthwaite would still want to go to an elite team though maybe man u would be a very risky move
Also we don't need big statements. We made statements under moshiri. We even won a transfer window. We need to just get thinks right

I can't see united coming back in for Branthwaite having spent £100m+ on two other CBs in the previous window.
Arsenal don't need him, City might as Stones is now 30 and becoming injured more and more often, and I'm not sure Chelsea can afford more big purchases for a while.
Honestly my biggest worry is that Liverpool might be the ones to make the move, so I'm hoping one of the big European clubs comes calling and whisks him away to success in the sun.

We won't sell him to Liverpool and I'd like to believe he wouldn't go there, he seems a level headed lad and I don't think he would want to rub our noses in it by going to them
Real is the most likely destination maybe even bayern as they seem to like English players atm

I doubt a player with a market value will be swayed by a new stadium. It's not like their career will suddenly be transformed.

We would and he would, sorry but I don't see a world in which we can realistically turn down a substantial bid just because it's Liverpool. They're top of the league and looking like title contenders, he's not turning them down just because of some misguided loyalty to a relegation battle level team.
Exciting, encouraging. One thing though: saying we’re light on staff and that they are going to bring in expert employees - this is all counted in PSR too right?

You’re mis-remembering. We didn’t win a transfer window - we ruined football!

These guys earn in a year what our top earners make in a fortnight. Won't move the needle.
