It will be the usual suspects in the last 16 , all then getting a favourable draw.

Re: Today's Football 2024-25
It will obviously never return to it in a million years but the Champions League binning league stages, kicking out everyone bar Champions and the holders and going back to a straight knock out would improve it immensely as a sporting spectacle.
I understand why it is here but this new group stage seems to have done nothing more than convince me that the previous interminably boring group stages weren't actually that bad.

What's the saying?
"Form's temporary but being an overrated clueless Villa twunt..."
And I want a special relationship with Belgium now anyway. A country who specialises in beer, chocolate and chips has got its priorities right if you ask me.

Arsenal slowly morphing into a set piece team..?
Don't think that's a penalty. CL handball decisions seem very ropey these days.

Set pieces can only carry you so far. At some point they have to play football, and without Odergaard, they seem to have forgotten how to.

Presumably he thought the ball boy had roll it back onto the pitch and didn't realise it was Martinez, he picked it up and took the goal kick to Martinez.

Re: Today's Football 2024-25
Did anyone see the Arsenal CL game last season when a similar thing happened but a penalty wasn’t given? Bonkers by Mings like but wondering what the difference was…
Re: Today's Football 2024-25
That's been mentioned a few times, there wasn't a lot of difference apparently. It's a stupid mistake to make but this is where a bit of common sense should apply, he's clearly thought the ball wasn't in play so has picked it up and taken the goal kick, it's not like he's denied a goal scoring opportunity or used his hand in anyway to gain an advantage. By the letter of the law it's a penalty but it's a bit daft.

Thanks - So just the usual total lack of consistency from refereesGash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 3:11 pm That's been mentioned a few times, there wasn't a lot of difference apparently.
