Amadou Onana
Re: Amadou Onana
A young player who messed up in a big moment. Not the first and won’t be the last. We shouldn’t get on his back tho, we’ve seen enough over the past two years to know that players thrive when supported, not rounded on. Bad moment for him, but we move on.

Just saving us from being pumped 6-0 by Liverpool under 18s in the semis, it’s all about the bigger picture

Look it's just a bad decision from him. He's been fantastic this season so let continue to get behind him at the game and on special media.

Re: Amadou Onana
Because penalties are always about mentality rather than ability. I think he put his hand up to be strong, but then felt nervous when confronted with the reality, and then overcompensated trying to do something ice cool, rather than focusing on technique. Will help him long term he’s a smart guyKerryblueboy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:16 am Still can’t understand why he was ahead of garner a set piece taker went full on neymar last night playing the fool
Re: Amadou Onana
He will live and learn from it. Although it is gutting and upsetting, these things happen in penalty shootouts. Players make silly decisions at the split second, which creates mistakes.
Don’t blame anyone for it. Penalty shootouts are cruel at the best of times and just stepping up to take one takes courage. Especially in a big game at home with the crowd all starring at you.
All part of his development. Onwards and upwards

We're never going to move on while we keep letting opportunities like last night go.Jamokachi wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 1:22 am A young player who messed up in a big moment. I just don’t see any point in dwelling on the past, it’s happened, we learn from it and move on.MayorFarnham wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 2:33 pm You're just describing the passing of time. That's not progress.
