Thats about Everton fans isnt it. He is so immature its crazy, he is like a spoilt teenager.

I dont want him getting shit and abuse but like people have said, just try hard and dont put subliminal messages online like a teenage boy.
You'd easily be forgiven for thinking he was 19 with his behaviour and how people treat him. He's only a few months younger than Branthwaite.

You don't see this type of stuff from Alcaraz, Dibling or Iroegbunam who are all younger than him.

Find it mad how people think he should just accept what’s happening to him by the fanbase.

He made a mistake, saw his mates attacked because of it now it continues on social media.

We, as fans, do not care about the mental health of the players. We just don’t, and this is the prime example.

If we think he should get on with it then fine, part of me agrees, but leave the mental health stuff alone when a players comes out and says how much they’re struggling.

People don’t care.

For me, i dont care about the Arsenal thing, like you said he made a mistake, move on. And i do not think he should be getting abuse on socials. People need to grow up. Be grown men typing shit to him, and its pathetic.

But I cant accept him half arsing it in games though. Does he have mental health stuff going on? Im not sure.

The whole Barry soap opera is boring now.

Gives us more to talk about than his talent or performances warrant.

Don't give him any more minutes this season and move him on in the summer.

I'm not sure I agree with the lack of effort accusations - I don't think he's be getting anywhere near the pitch if he wasn't applying himself. Moyes wouldn't have it.

Lack of talent, lack of suiting the league, lack of confidence - sure.

I'm not comfortable with the attitude fans have toward him, and I'm certain it's helping no one.

Surax wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 8:17 am I'm not condoning this at all, I can't stand it, but he has only fuelled the fire himself. All he has to do is put himself about a bit and give it a good go. When he first arrived he looked fairly hungry and I could see a player there, even if he wasn't scoring he joined up play and looked a much better footballer than Beto. Instead of kicking on and using the competition with Beto as fuel, he's regressed and looks disinterested. We all know that if there's one thing we won't accept as a fanbase it's a lack of effort. Even Lukaku got plenty of stick, but for the most part it was tolerated because he was so good in front of goal and would win games. Niasse, dreadful player, but he won people over with his spirit, the same thing Beto has done. So all said and done, whilst I don't support bashing our own players, he's brought a lot of this on himself. He has a choice to make, suck it up, crack on and give it all he's got, or slink off back to a slower less competitive league...a shame for a young talent to waste an opportunity they've probably dreamt about, but not everyone has the mentality for it.
He brought on the level of abuse he's getting himself? It's not just a bit of stick or criticism, there's some proper vile stuff being posted.

Nothing he's done or not done justifies some of the abuse he's getting, including the Arsenal incident.

Fans are nobs on social media but he needs to be brighter.

He could score a hat trick at this rate and people won't be behind hi.

Who knows, we shouldn’t have to wait for confirmation before we question our behaviour towards him though.

Hes consistently crap. Im not sure what's happening to him beyond people calling him out for being consistently crap. The arsenal thing none of us could really care less about. It only matters because hes been consistently crap

And that’s fine is it? To give him constant grief on social media because people think he’s rubbish?

A lot of people quite clearly cared a lot about the Arsenal thing and thought it was ok that his friends were attacked and took to social media to give him more grief.

He’s been booed by his own fans everytime he's come onto the pitch since then.

It's just so counter intuitive too, if you want / demand a player delivers then booing him and abusing him on socials is going to have the complete opposite effect.

Some really thick people around unfortunately.

Of course its not fine but thats social media for everyone. He'd get constant grief from opposition fans if he were good. People only care about the arsenal thing because hes been poor. If hed scored 20 goals and played consistently well he could come round my house and punch me everytime arsenal scored.

The booing is beyond stupid. The reality is hes not good enough, hes a bit of an idiot and we all need to part ways because its never going to work

Profiles almost identically to Beto for pressures and recoveries I think (probably because they have the same demands and set up).

Now this is the bit where I would say - do we definitely know that?

‘He is not good enough’

He hasn’t been good enough so far and we want more from our main man- maybe more accurate?

I mean he has 6 non-pen goals in the prem in his first season, for a side that don’t score a great deal. Vs the same from our star winger who’s maybe begrudgingly off for £60m, or our number ten who has 7 and is apparently player of the season, or 8 from our first choice striker.

I think the idea he’s a complete flop are miles off. Miles and miles.

That said - I do still think this is the end of his time here and nobody will look back fondly.
