Delap is a good striker imo
Stats wise he’s not really that great. He’s 23 and in 3 seasons in the Championship he scored 3, 1 and 8 times across those seasons and his PL record is 12 for Ipswich and 1 for Chelsea. Ipswich at the moment is more of the outlier.
I don’t think he’s terrible, he’ll work hard and press…although on the downside on the pitch his behaviour at times would likely get him more red cards than he got at Chelsea. If we were paying the ‘Ipswich release clause then amount, he’s probably worth the chance but I’d not be willing to pay the Chelsea tax on top of that when they’ve done nothing to improve him. Arguably if anything they’ve shown there is more of a risk to buying him given another season with a lack of goals and unreliable fitness too.

I’m a no at Delap too, regardless of price, if he’s not worth £40m with his scoring record then he’s not worth 30 or even 20, he’s either the answer or he’s not regardless. I’d rather keep the money for someone with a better track record.
