Could he be the difference between us finishing say 14th and 10th? You’d certainly hope so
Thats £12m in prize money?
If we pay £200k a week towards his wages that’s just over £10m?
Not sure paying 12m to potentially win 12m sounds like a good financial deal.
I'd love grealish here but I do think 10m should be the very top end of what we will do and I don't think that will get him anyway
I do think many of us are coming with the same just pay it shouts that accompanied all moshiris bad business and left us circling the drain. We need to be very firm on value and not just pay it for anyone

Re: Jack Grealish
With the insane and obscene cash figures that get spiked up the wall in football, breaking even to achieve higher league position is an absolute, to quote Brap, no-brainer.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:22 pm Not sure paying 12m to potentially win 12m sounds like a good financial deal.

Re: Jack Grealish
If we finish higher up the league it increases our attractiveness to other players, it potentially has us around or just below the European places and helps us convince young stars we're a team on the up.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:22 pm Not sure paying 12m to potentially win 12m sounds like a good financial deal.

As others have mentioned before too that if we got Dibbling then there's probably no better mentor than Grealish too.
And if nothing else it'd make us a far more interesting team to watch, and help bring some exciting play to the new stadium.
Mainly though it just increases our profile and makes us look more like a team on the up than he relegation scrappers we've become known as.

Potentially breaking even. That was the upside the poster I quoted was selling us on.Toddacelli wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:58 pm With the insane and obscene cash figures that get spiked up the wall in football, breaking even to achieve higher league position is an absolute, to quote Brap, no-brainer.

I agree but that doesn't mean there's value in 15m for a year of grealish or 45m and 25% of the profits for someone who's done the square route of fuck all
Common sense is disappearing on here again. Shouts of just pay the money. I don't think we've learnt a lot as a fanbase. Moshiri was an absolute disaster but his ridiculous decisions were cheered on by the fans til we ran out of money. I'd just like us to be very clear on value and stick to it

Re: Jack Grealish
They got 8m plus wages for half a season of Phillips. I think it will be significant part of his wages and a fee.
Who knows though. We shall see

Nah, just responding to your assertion that the finances involved would be ridiculous, I’d happily take a loss for all the other benefits it would bring, which others have highlighted. Not every single deal has to be a guaranteed profit maker, or else you’d never sign anyone777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:23 pm Potentially breaking even. Re: Jack Grealish
Nobody said it’s paying 12 million to win 12 million (then you suddenly come up with 15 million ?) I’m saying it’s a fairly safe bet that you will get your 12 million back in league placement money, how often can you say that about a player ? If 12 million is the difference between survival or relegation is that not worth it ? That’s different to just “spending 12 million to WIN 12 million”777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:22 pm Not sure paying 12m to potentially win 12m sounds like a good financial deal.

Re: Jack Grealish
"I know a lot of people who know Jack Grealish, he wants this deal to happen. I know he wants to go Everton"
Re: Jack Grealish
Really want this one to happen. A year of Grealish at Bramley Moore Dock would be class. Get Aznou at LB and we could have some filthy link-up play with Ndiaye in the equation.
