Women's footy

Everton's International, Clare Wheeler has just scored for Australia against Phillipines. Good goal from outside the box.

Could do with a run in Everton's midfield. Might do if she continues in Hope's absense.

Was at the match yesterday. Didn’t realise she was one of us. Nice to see Kerr score at hat trick in front of her home crowd

Nice one, looked a good crowd, and the surface looked pretty good. How is the view at Optus?

It'd be good if Wheeler got more playing time with both Everton and Australia, as the latter at least needs depth and to develop more experience in that part of the pitch for when Gorry ultimately retires. I thought Foord was impressive, as always.

Kerr's a force of nature. Beatlemania when she's on. It'd be good if the likes of Foord, Catley and Gorry who are equally as important to the team were met with the same support too, but I guess that'll come. Every team needs a star.

Yeah Optus was great. We were 12 rows from the front. Flamethrowers with every goal so they felt almost nonstop at some points.

Wheeler looked good starting over Carpenter against Chinese Taipei the other night. Think it’s safe to say Fowler will reach Kerr levels of hysteria if she continues on the path she’s headed, that was some strike to open the scoring

Not watch the England game but 5-0 up after 49 mins only to get the 6 in the 93 min just think they could have got 7 or 8 and put the result to bed,

All seemed a bit contrived, or at the very least highly open to corruption given Scotland were finishing bottom anyway, that in the end by far England's biggest win and Scotland's biggest loss occurred in this game where both sets of players could potentially benefit from that result and scoreline. Seems farcical and an obvious problem with the structure of GB vs England Scotland Wales & NI separate for IOC vs UEFA.

Two sucker punch goals from Netherlands seemed to upset things regardless.

Lauren James stamped on an Arsenal player, should've seen red. Not something you want to have on your resume or to be known by.

What’s with this qualification format?

Seems even more bizarre way of trying to guarantee the “big” teams make it then the men’s
