Arnaut Danjuma

Post

What do you reckon with this fella then??

Dobbin more preferred recently.

Reckon he doesn't do the hard graft Sean likes?

Weird as I think he started the season well, got 2 goals then vanished.

Don't reckon we will see a lot of him now pending an injury crisis but it's an odd one.

I think it's more that he's too unpredictable for Dyche. He can't be relied to keep the ball, win free kicks and corners etc, especially when we're protecting a lead. He's more likely to try a trick, going for another goal and lose the ball in a dangerous position.

He always seems buzzing for the players when we score, and invested in the team, so I think it's more his playing style is completely the opposite of what Dyche wants than anything.

Doesnt seem to fit with how we play. Decent enough player but not a grafter like the forward players we have.

Talented player but never going to be part of a Sean Dyche team. Think it speaks volumes that he played off DCL in the cup match against Burnley. Unless you're willing to run your arse off for 90 minutes straight down the wing then you're not going to be a winger in this side.

Shame but it is what it is.

There if we need bodies.
Striker or support, rather than winger in this team.

I like his bromance with Gana 🐍

Would like to see him given more of a chance, but hard to be critical of anything Dyche is doing at the moment.

I think his fate was decided after the game he played on the left where he did half a job to close down a deep cross, resulting in us conceding.

Dyche would rather have a midfielder who is average and a bit predictable going forward but is very disciplined and willing to do the hard graft going back, than someone the other way round who can create/score more often.

The baseline is consistent hard work for the team, nothing comes before that system and approach he's created.

It’s just a case that McNeil and Harrison fit like a glove into Dyches system. Danjuma is there if/when they can’t play, but whilst they are playing so well, it would be mad to change it.

Just don’t see a match situation where bringing him on fits with Dyche philosophy? Maybe if we’re 1 down against a team we should be beating?

Yeah he must just not be able to press / shape like dyche wants, either way he's not having him one bit is he.

You'd hope such basic shortcomings as a reluctance to press would be apparent at the scouting stage. Dyche had been manager for about six months before we loaned him.

Might just have been we where also simply desperate for numbers and we'd almost already had him over the line so it was convenient given the situation.

Good decision making and defensive discipline are essential for a modern winger if they want to play at the top level. He seems very talented but lacks that final part that makes a Son or Salah. I also get the impression that the nature of his loan is a factor in how he plays. He seems a good lad and isn’t all out for himself but definitely sees us as a stepping stone to a CL club and so is always trying to make something happen so loses the ball a lot. Managers are often reluctant to play these types of players over ones on permanent contracts. Dyche would probably rather develop Dobbin than give his minutes to someone who is gone at the end of the season regardless, unless he was really smashing the goals and assists. I’m sure he’ll come on if we really need a goal but we’ll see Dobbin if we’re in a good position.

Only caught the final 15 of the game today but he made a lot of stuff happen.

I like Harrison but he's been out of form for a while for me, get Arnaut in the side for a bit.
