Agent denies Pienaar offer

Steven Pienaar’s agent, Ivan Yanes Modia, has said that reports yesterday that the player had been offered a new ‘record breaking’ deal at Everton were not true.

Reports suggested that David Moyes had met with the player during the World Cup and had tried to entice him to stay at Everton with an improved contract offer, but Modia says this is not true.

Modia said: “No, quite frankly nothing came out of our last meeting [with Everton]. The last time I sat with them is early June. We haven’t spoken to Moyes, but the player is still an Everton player, and I’m not going to talk about anything more than that. We will see.”
