Blues want another Silva lining

Everton are among clubs being linked with bringing former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva to the Premier League.

The 33 year old is currently enjoying the World Cup with Brazil and could be among several Panathinaikos players who will leave this summer to ease the Greek side’s financial problems.

However, at 33, is he the answer to the questions posed last season in Everton’s midfield? The midfielder enjoyed his time at Arsenal and proved he could handle the Premier League, but with competition from Blackburn, Fulham, and Liverpool for his signature, would Everton be prepared to offer the kind of deal he would want?
