Gosling could leave on a free

Everton are in danger of losing Dan Gosling for nothing if the Premier League rules that the club did not act properly when offering a new contract.

The former Plymouth Argyle player has become a crowd favourite at Goodison Park after his goal against Liverpool in last year’s FA Cup run, and he cemented that position with another goal in Everton’s 3-1 win over Manchester United last season at Goodison.

However, it is claimed that the Blues failed to offer Gosling a new deal in writing before the date his currrent contract had just 12 months left to run.

The Blues claim an offer was made verbally, but with nothing in writing before the deadline, other clubs could come in and offer Gosling contracts with them without Everton being able to demand a fee, instead the transfer could go to a tribunal, should the player even want to leave.
