Signed from Liverpool for Â£100k in 1983, Harper was a reliable yet unsung squad member during Howard Kendall’s glory years. He left for Sheffield Wednesday in search of first-team football in 1988 and rejoined Kendall at Manchester City before following his mentor back to Goodison in 1991.
