Parkinson’s influence was noticed in the 1995/96 campaign when the team failed to register a single win during his absence. Injuries dogged Parkinson throughout the following season, so much so that he sought revolutionary surgery to rebuild his knee. He even played through pain to help in another battle against the drop in 1997. Two years later he retired to become a Fan’s Liaison Officer.
