Simon Davies became an Everton player when he signed from Tottenham Hotspurs for 3.5million in the summer of 2005. He arrived at a time when there was much excitement at Everton with the Champions League qualifier to look forward to however it hasn’t all worked out for Simon Davies as yet. Injuries and a loss of form has made settling in for th Welsh International difficult.
Davies signed for Spurs as a youngster arriving from Peterbrough with huge potential. He soon showed the Spurs fans what he was all about and was being touted for a move to Manchester United for a fee in the region of 10million. However since then Davies has had terrible luck with injuries including being out for quite some time with shin splints. These injuries made it difficult for Davies to gain any kind of form or fitness and felt a move to Everton would freshen up his career. This has not been the case as yet but Davies will be hoping that after a difficult first season he can produce the kind of form for Everton that attracted the interest of one of the countries top clubs.
