Everton are reportedly looking to bring in former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen as cover at the back while Ramiro Funes Mori recovers from injury.
The Barcelona man finds himself out of favour at the Nou Camp and could be available at a cut-price fee to set up a reunion with Ronald Koeman, who gave Vermaelen his first senior start in football.
At 31 and with five years of Premier League experience with the Gunners, Vermaelen would bring experience to the back four and his style of defending does seem to fit in with Koeman’s no-nonsense methods.
What do you think? Would Thomas Vermaelen offer Everton good cover?
