Everton are reportedly close to signing Spaniard Diego Costa on loan until January as a move to Atletico Madrid waits on their transfer embargo being lifted.
The Spanish side can sign – and register – players, but they cannot use new signings until after January 1st after being penalised by UEFA.
Costa, unwelcome at Chelsea, is set to sign for Atletico for around £45m according to reporters close to the Spanish side, and will immediately join the Blues on loan until January.
Arguably one of the best centre forwards in the Premier League last season, Costa will be an excellent short term solution to a big problem at Goodison Park.
