Allardyce: Players responded brilliantly to defeat

Goodison ParkEverton boss Sam Allardyce says that his side are getting it right at home and entertaining the fans this season after picking up a valuable three-points against strugglers Crystal Palace.

The former Palace boss got one over his replacement as the Blues ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Oumar Niasse, Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

He said, “I was apprehensive today after being done 5-1 away from home but the players have responded magnificently.

“We have shown what we can do and hopefully we can improve for the rest of the season.

“We have to look at our own record and that is where the mainstay of our season lies.

“In the eight home games I have been here, we have picked up 17 points and conceded just four goals.

“We are getting it right, entertaining the fans and getting the result. The unfortunate away form is causing us the problems.”
