cut price deal?
David Moyes is said to have tabled a bid of £1.2m for Liverpool’s French flop Djimi Traore according to reports from Sky Sports.
Traore, a central defender, signed for Liverpool for £5.5m in 1999, but found it hard to gain a regular place in the side, possibly due to Gerrard Houllier’s insistance on playing him at left back, and he was loaned to Lens the following season, where he gained confidence.
However, he has made only 47 starts in his 5 years at Anfield, and is not part of their new manager’s plans. So, a cut-price partner for Joseph Yobo is what Moyes would like to make of him. And at only 24, he has time to mature as a defender.
