According the Sunday People “news”paper, Everton are lining up a bid for Manchester United attacking midfielder Paul Scholes.
Rumours circulating on various message boards of both clubs have claimed a fee of around £6m could be involved, although no cash would change hands due to United still to pay Everton the second installment of the Wayne Rooney transfer.
While Scholes may have been one of the best players in England over the last five years, he is now 30 years old, no doubt on huge wages, and, from this website’s view-point, would be hard pushed to remove Tim Cahill from the attacking midfield role which saw the Australian score 11 last season.
Still, it’s nice to be linked to players of a higher calibre than Paul Dickov.
