According to the Mirror ‘newspaper’, Everton and Aston Villa lead the chase for 29 year old striker Lee Trundle, with the reported transfer cost being in the region of £1m.
The Swansea hitman has been in good form this season bagging 17 goals, but he is a far cry from the ‘big’ names linked with Everton over the course of the summer, when we were after the likes of Dirk Kuyt and Michael Owen.
The Mirror also believe that another reported target, David Nugent, is now being tracked by Birmingham City boss, Steve Bruce.
Birmingham like Everton, have been goal shy this season only managing to score 11 goals in 16 Premiership games and the Mirror ‘newspaper’ suggest that Bruce has turned his attentions to the Preston striker to help solve their goal scoring problems.
This is bad news for Everton, as it is likely that any interest from Birmingham will just increase the value of the player with Everton potentially having a bidding war on their hands for the talented 20 year old.
