James Beattie has added his name to the long, long list of people who want Duncan Ferguson to continue playing for Everton, at least until the end of the season.
“Duncan’s his own man, and will make his own decision,” Beattie acknowledged.
“But he was captain against Charlton and produced a great performance. At half time he was giving the team talk before the gaffer came in.
“That’s the respect he has at this club. He can definitely still play a part in the second half of the season
“Duncan has had a tremendous career and is a legend here. He’s been that at every club he’s played for.
“We wouldn’t want to see him call it a day. We will be trying to persuade him in every way we can.”
