Leon Osman believes a night gambling and a meal with Bill Kenwright, the man so keen on taking Everton Football Club to a second-rate stadium in Kirkby, were the reasons behind the Blues fantastic victory at Spurs last weekend.
Breaking tradition, David Moyes took his players down to London two days before Sunday’s match so they could do a bit of ‘bonding’.
Speaking to the LiverpoolEcho, Osman said: “It was good to spend a couple of days with the lads in a hotel again.
“We went out for a meal and it was a chance, in a way, for everyone to get close again. A change of scenery and change of tack helps you refocus on what you have got to do and what you are brought together as a squad to do.
“It was obviously the right thing to do because we played really well against Tottenham. discuss this on the forums
