Pellegrini is facing scrutiny after two defeats in a row including a 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at home in midweek and insists that the recent history of Everton visits to Manchester City are irrelevant for tomorrow’s game.
“Everton are always a difficult team, they are the only team unbeaten in the Premier League,” said the City manager.
“They are a very good team, but I hope that we can play a good game and get three points.
“We must play well in every sense though.
“Statistics [of previous meetings between the two sides] are in the past and football is in the present so we will try to win tomorrow.”
