Martinez wants Soldado apology

Roberto Martinez Everton managerRoberto Martinez has hit back at Andre Villas-Boas regarding the Spurs manager’s comments over the head injury to Hugo Lloris at Goodison Park last weekend.

The goalkeeper was knocked unconscious after an unfortunate collision with Romelu Lukaku late in the second half, and AVB yesterday tried to switch attention to the Belgian striker after being criticised for allowing Lloris to continue playing.

Martinez was in good spirits, and quipped that apologies could be swapped by the clubs when Roberto Soldado calls to apologise for his cowardly elbow on Phil Jagielka.

Martinez said, The good thing is that you can watch the replay and you can see the video evidence. Romelu, all he’s doing is carrying on his run.

“He cannot disappear [out of Lloris’ path]. It’s unfortunate.

“We’re waiting for Roberto Soldado to apologise to Phil Jagielka and use the same phone call so we don’t have to spend two phone calls.”
