Roberto Martinez has announced to The Guardian that he will be spending on players in the summer. While he did say that he has other plans for the TV money, he went on to reiterate that their are funds available with around twenty million remaining from player sales.
Martinez stressed throughout a frustrating January transfer window that he intended to strengthen in the summer and it would appear he will be true to his word. Talking about squad size he stated that 21 players is adequate for a normal league campaign but around 27 would be required if Everton qualify for Europe whether it be Europa or Champions League.
He stated his intention to strengthen with at least 5 players although how much money available was yet to be set and was dependent on whether Everton make it into the Champions League.
