Martinez confirms striker talks

Lacina Traore Everton awayEverton  manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that the Blues are in talks with Lacina Traore over a return to Goodison Park next season.

The lanky striker made just two appearances for the Blues, scoring within six minutes of his first game – the FA Cup tie against Swansea – but spent much of the season out with injury.

Martinez, however, is known to be a fan of the Monaco striker who has been seen frequently in Liverpool this summer, and wants him to return to Everton next season.

He said, “At the moment we are still talking with Monaco. With Lacina, it is a three-way conversation and it will go a bit further down the line before we take a final decision.

“But we always wanted Lacina to be with us and to play his football with us, and that hasn’t changed at all.”
