Baines and Pienaar – or Bainaar as is the collective term – rekindled their former partnership down Everton’s left hand side to superb effect yesterday at Leicester, and were one of the highlights of the game.
Martinez said, “There were moments when the two combined extremely well. The two found each other in good spaces and when they do that they bring a completely different dimension to our attacking play.
“The goal came from a good move down the left-hand side. There were another couple of moments where we couldn’t take advantage of that good football that we played between Leighton and Steven.”
