The Blues’ reward for progressing to the last-16 of the domestic cup competition is a home tie against the Canaries after both Premier League sides overcame Reading and West Bromwich Albion respectively in the 3rd round of the draw.
And Martinez is of the opinion that, whilst it is advantageous to be hosting the newly promoted side, the Toffees will not be resting on their laurels when Alex Neil brings his outfit to Goodison Park.
“You are looking at the draw throughout and it is a very strong competition with the teams that are involved in the next round,” the Catalan said.
“From our point of view, I’m delighted that we have been drawn at home because it is always good to have the support of our fans at Goodison but we recognise and are very much aware of the quality of the opposition.
“Norwich have started a new season in a new division in fantastic fashion. They are a brave team, very attack-minded and it will be a terrific cup tie without a doubt.”
