Garde hoping to surprise Everton

astonvillaNew Aston Villa boss Remi Garde says that Everton are good passers of the ball who like to play on the counter-attack, but he hopes his side can surprise the Blues.

Garde brings his team to Goodison Park after a draw with Manchester City in his first game in charge, and wants to try and upset Everton and leave with all three points.

He said, “They play on the counter-attack have good passers like [Gareth] Barry and Barkley and the speed of [Romelu] Lukaku and [Gerard] Deulofeu, of course, a lot of quality players.

“We’re going to try and give them some problems.

“Maybe we can create a surprise.

“This is a team who like to pass. They like to keep the ball. They like to play with width on the pitch. It’s not direct play.”
