Roberto Martinez

Martinez seething at last minute offside goal

John Terry is offsideRoberto Martinez is furious after seeing his Everton side dragged down a point at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea thanks to an offside goal by John Terry.

When asked how he felt after the game he replied, “Anger, pure anger.”

Terry was clearly in an offside position when he tapped home from 3 yards after 98 minutes (there had been 7 minutes added on by the officials) and Martinez is furious that it wasn’t spotted.

Martinez added, “It’s a clear-cut offside that should have been spotted. To make it worse, it’s 50 seconds over time. It’s something that’s not good enough.

“There is no explanation. It’s a big, big error.

“It’s an incredible injustice.

“It’s human error and something you can’t understand or explain. The linesman’s in a good position and he should see the flick on comes from a Chelsea player.

“It’s very tough to take a decision like that especially after the efforts to score three goals at Stamford Bridge.”
