Niasse could have moved to Chelsea

Oumar Niasse Everton shirtEverton forward Oumar Niasse has revealed that if Jose Mourinho had remained as Chelsea boss, he could have been facing the Toffees in the FA Cup this afternoon at Goodison Park.

Instead, Niasse is likely to feature at some point against Chelsea as Everton look to reach the FA Cup semi final for the first time since 2012.

The Senegalese striker revealed that Jose Mourinho had expressed an interest in signing him before he departed Stamford Bridge, which left the door open for his £13.5m move to Everton on deadline day in January.

“My manager told me about that Chelsea were interested,” said Niasse.

“He said that Mourinho liked the way I play, and had been looking at me since I was in Turkey. He was very interested in me in this last window, but he was sacked.”
