Everton’s new manager Ronald Koeman has stated he will talk to stars Romelu Lukaku and John Stones before making a decision over where their futures lie.
The Toffees pair have been linked with big-money moves away from Goodison Park over the past few weeks, despite the duo currently being on international duty at the European Championships in France.
Stones is said to be interesting the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City, while Lukaku has made it clear that he sees his future lying away from Merseyside since the end of last season.
But Koeman told reporters that he will sit down and talk to his young starlets ahead of the 2016/17 campaign to discuss what their plans are.
“I will talk to several players,” the 53-year-old told Everton’s official site.
“Lukaku is a key player, a goalscorer and you don’t want to lose one of your best players. If I can do something with that, I will because he is still a young player who needs support, he needs to improve. We like to keep those sort of players.
“I like to help everybody. Of course sometimes you have something more because he (Stones) plays in the same position as I played in the past.
“There will be good support for the boy. First of all I would like to talk to him personally to see what his feeling is and then make conclusions. That’s what we have to do.”
