Dr France, who has travelled over 2 million miles in more years than Holgate and Gana have been on this planet (combined!), is releasing his book telling the story of how he became one of the most influential men in our club’s history without ever kicking a ball for the Blues.
The boys were joined by Tony Kay, Ronnie Goodlass and Derek Temple at the city centre store to mark the launch of the book which has already seen orders for it’s limited 1,000 copy run mean that those that are on the shelves in stores are the only ones left.
The book details David’s journey from Widnes in the 1950’s to the oil boom in the USA where he became the man behind the men that shows like Dallas were based on, while all the while maintaining his connection with his first love – Everton Football Club.
Travelling back to Goodison Park from Houston for every home game, David racked up the air miles and met some incredible characters on his journeys – including one on Concorde after a match – and also had time to be the man behind the Everton Former Players Foundation, the Everton Collection, 16 Everton books, and an upcoming film.
We just hope he also had some time left to give Mason Holgate some fashion tips…..those pants….sheesh!
