Alex Young – The Golden Vision – is viewed by a generation of Evertonians as the greatest player to pull on an Everton jersey since the war.
Back in 2008, Alex sat down with a group of fans at Goodison Park to discuss his career with the Blues and reveal an interesting fact about his technical abilities.
Young reveals that at the age of 24 he started to lose his hearing which affected his ability to hear defenders approaching, which was what he used to determine which way he would turn to inevitably beat with the ball.
Now 79, Young spends the majority of his time at home with his wife, Nancy, but in this interview from our archives recalls his football career.
