Lookman delight at first Everton goal

Ademola Lookman EvertonEverton striker Ademola Lookman says he is delighted to have scored his first goal in a Blue shirt just four minutes into his Premier League career.

Lookman was a late, late substitute as Everton were coasting to a 3-0 win over Manchester City, but then a poor clearance from John Stones cannoned off Seamus Coleman and gave the former Charlton striker his chance.

A deft first touch steadied the ball for him to slide under Claudio Bravo in the City goal and cap off what must have been a whirlwind week for the teenager by sealing a 4-0 win.

“It is amazing, a great feeling,” he said.

“I’m delighted to have been able to come on, help the team and score my first Premier League goal. It was great to just finish the day off.

“The gaffer said I should play behind Romelu Lukaku and I was lucky to anticipate the ball.

“Everything has been really good since I have been here. To be around players that I grew up watching and learn off them every day is great.”
