James McCarthy

McCarthy considering pushing through move

James McCarthy EvertonDespite Everton reportedly saying they have no interest in letting James McCarthy leave in this window, reports from Ireland are claiming he could push for a move.

There were rumours of a move on loan to Sunderland but when that was dismissed, reports stated that Everton had no interest in letting McCarthy go.

Now, however, reports from the Irish Times claim McCarthy is considering asking for a move away from Goodison Park in order to get first team minutes.

McCarthy has suffered with injuries over the last couple of years, none less than when he is on international duty, and has been used sparingly by Ronald Koeman who accused the Irish FA of running the former Wigan man into the ground.

The Daily Mail also claims that both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are interested in signing McCarthy, who joined Everton for £13m in 2013.
