Koeman has worked with Forster at both clubs and reports suggest that he would like to bring him in to Goodison Park as his new number one, despite impressive performances from Joel Robles in recent weeks.
The 6 foot 7 stopper has been in and out of the England squad over the last few years, and signed a five year deal at Southampton last summer, meaning they will be under little pressure to sell.
Forster has had a tough start to this season, but in his 25 Premier League appearances for the Saints, has kept 9 clean sheets – although Joel has kept 6 in 10.
Joel also averages 3 saves per goal he concedes, where Forster averages just 1.19 per goal conceded. Joel also averages just 0.7 goals conceded per game where Forster averages 1.24.
With the fee likely to be sizeable for Forster’s services, is Ronald Koeman better off keeping his hands in his pockets and allowing 26 year old Robles to make the number one spot his own?
